Trace API & MCP Docs

Web-technology detection and vendor intelligence, available as a REST API and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.

Trace crawls websites, identifies the technologies in use, and maps them to the vendors and companies behind them. This documentation covers the two ways to consume that data programmatically: the /v1 REST API and the MCP server for AI agents.

REST API

Look up a company’s technographics, find companies using a technology or vendor, explore partnership graphs, and build lists. Start with the Quickstart or jump to the interactive API reference.

MCP server

Connect Trace to Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other AI clients so agents can query technographics in your workflow. See the MCP overview.

Built for agents

The API is fully described by a public OpenAPI document, so agents can discover and call Trace directly — and connect over MCP for tool access.
